LEARN MORE
The F1 helmet for urban fires: it has a nickel-plated coating to reflect heat, and has two visors, an anti-projection visor (used in road rescue for example), and a transparent or gold visor against thermal radiation. The helmet is held by a chin strap and you can add a flap in aluminized fabric or felt, attached by Velcro;
The F2 helmet for forest fires: it is a lighter helmet, red (for men of the rank), yellow (for non-commissioned officers) or white (for officers), and equipped with protective goggles and a chinstrap.
The firefighter's helmet mainly protects against heat, shocks (progression without visibility) and falling objects (collapses). It can be combined with a self-contained breathing apparatus (ARI) (compressed air cylinder worn on the back, the face mask of which is attached to the helmet) which allows breathing even in a smoky or toxic atmosphere and therefore protects the respiratory tract. .
Fire helmets for urban fires or forest fires meet the following standards:
Building fire fighting: EN 443, EN 14458
Fight against vegetation fires and forest fires: EN 16471: 2014
