Technical description
The classic Mc Leod rake incorporates two complementary functions. It is an essential tool in the indirect attack of fires; it has a 6-tooth side with a rib to give it strength, and a sharp hoe on the other side, ideal for consolidating cut lines and extending them. Its implementation has become famous among firefighters for its efficiency and practicality. Along with the Pulaski, it is one of the most widely used tools in brigades around the world.
Its deployment is recommended for removing large amounts of vegetation on the ground and raking the fuel to mineral soil. Widely used on soft surfaces and in areas of commercial planting where the build-up of plant load is significant.
DESIGN AND MATERIALS
Our tool has a line that can be detached from the blade, which can also be used on the Derki combination rake.
The McLeod blade is made of alloy steel, which is particularly resistant to wear and does not require additional heat treatment to produce tensions in the material.
Its hardness is 44 to 46 HRC. The finish is provided by a baked paint. The tool has a scale and balance that allow it to be handled easily and safely, with a format and dimension that achieve the best ratio between fatigue and surface worked, allowing the user to '' achieve more efficiency with less fatigue.
Ergonomic handle. Its length is 1,20 m. Hollow, straight tubular fiberglass rope reinforced with resin and over-extruded with HDPE (high density polyethylene), with non-slip areas.
non-slip areas. It reduces the transmission of vibrations to the user and can be used with other tools in our range.
